THE COMMUNITY
The concept of the dance performance The Community was created by Stuttgart choreographer Juliette Villemin, who died suddenly in Jan 2023. Now the Cologne choreographer Carla Jordão has taken on the task of continuing it according to her own artistic ideas and setting it in motion with four performers and a musician.
With the invitation to become part of the community, the dance performance takes up the social longing to experience community in a particularized society and meets it through the offer of communication. From the opposite, the performers playfully and dance-like open the circle to situations of communal togetherness, of belonging, of being apart, emotional and absurd, and extend it to the audience:
